2022 Homelessness Shoe Giveaway
At Unity in Christ Ministries we recognize, “homelessness is the state of people who do not have regular housing facilities, which is known to most people to be a social problem.” Because most homeless people spend their time on the street, whether during the day or at night it can be very unsafe as they seek some type of shelter or cover to turn in.
Unlike people that have the luxury or benefit of basic housing, it is important to remember homelessness is a chronic issue that should be addressed. When facing or encountering a homeless person, we must take in consideration homeless persons deserve to live in conditions that provide housing facilities that meet basic needs at best.
The ability to find and maintain employment to afford basic needs such as affordable shelter, hygiene supplies, clean clothes, socks, blankets, a warm jacket, food, drinking water, access to medical and mental care, and most of all, compassion.
Unity in Christ Ministries strives to assist in any way we can by providing essential items to an unhoused person(s) as they face another day or night worrying about a safe place to sleep and where their next meal is coming from.
During our most recent outing on August 13, 2022, our ministry provided shoes, socks, hand sanitizer, snacks, canned meat, breakfast bars, and water to the homeless community. As we drove around the city, we felt the need to rededicate our commitment and efforts because we realize each outreach, there is much work needing to be done.
As we continue to go out and meet the needs of the homeless population, it is apparent it takes additional resources, financial assistance, and the community collectively to help meet the needs of the homeless population.
We ask you join in to help provide resources and financial assistance that we many continue the work of Unity in Christ Ministries.
